Biography

Jean Watson earned her chemical engineering degree from ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓin 1971 and joined Chevron the following year. Over the course of her career, she led numerous cross‑functional and cross‑disciplinary teams, guiding major organizational changes and contributing significantly to Chevron’s recruiting efforts. Her technical and leadership roles spanned hydroprocessing engineering, refinery process engineering, supply and distribution coordination, analytical support for overseas chemical affiliates, and service as chief process engineer. Watson’s strong record of innovation and leadership led to a series of key appointments within Chevron. She became manager of Chevron Research Technology in 1985, manager of Downstream Applications/Shared Service Planning in 1989, and, in 1997, was named Manager of Refining Central Technology—one of the most influential positions in the company’s refining business.
